Organisers of the ELVIS tribute event at Bath Pavilion on Friday 1 July report a huge success. Over 500 people danced the night away to the world famous SUSPICIOUSLY ELVIS band supported by a Roy Orbison tribute act.

Mike Watts of Funtastic in Bath Guildhall Market said, ‘The evening was an overwhelming success and Suspiciously Elvis more than lived up to their reputation as one of the best Elvis tribute bands in the world! Their classic performance not only comprised a five piece ‘live’ band but also included feather wearing dancing show girls – everyone really felt like they were back in those heady Las Vegas days when Elvis ruled supreme.

The event also featured the much publicised ‘live prize draw’ to win the amazing ‘King of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Jungle’ lion sculpture which was one of 100 Lions of Bath exhibited around the City during 2010. The lucky winner was local Bath resident Dennis Ferris of Southdown. Receiving the sculpture from Mike Watts, Mr Ferris said, ‘I cannot believe my luck, I only made one entry when I was passing through the Guildhall Market on my 70th birthday – I never imagined that I would be the lucky winner!’

Early reports are that, due to lack of space and security for the ‘The King’, Mr Ferris has already sold the lion to an anonymous buyer.

Anyone who missed Suspiciously Elvis can see them later this year on 14 & 15 December at Komedia in Bath.
